SAVE WATER THROUGH EVAPORATION
PROBLEM
Water is an expensive commodity, especially to mine operators who work in mountainous or inaccessible locations. A single layer of Balls/Cover automatically arrange themselves into a close packed formation over 80-91% of the surface area, greatly reducing sunlight penetration and therefore liquid evaporation. The thermal insulating qualities of Bird Balls also assist in maintaining winter operating temperatures of the water.
SOLUTION
By floating a layer of Ball / Cover on the surface, the liquid is camouflaged and birds fail to see the ponds. The balls/Cover rise and fall with changing liquid levels and easily accommodate objects such as floating pump barges.

OPERATIONS
Balls are manufactured in black UV stabilized HDPE and should provide over 10 years of continuous service in conventional applications & Cover +15 Years. The Balls/Cover are also completely reusable, should another basin require covering when the original location becomes uneconomic.
MAINTENANCE FREE
Unlike netting, Balls/Cover are an install and forget solution. The balls/cover are simply poured from their packing onto the liquid surface. Moderate winds and snow, which damage netting so easily, fail to affect a Ball floating cover.
SURFACE COVERAGE
The ball weight and diameter of the standard Balls/Cover usually gives optimum performance at moderate wind speeds whilst ensuring the most economical cost per square foot. A Ball weight a nominal 30.0g and is 90-100mm(4") in diameter
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) - Suitable for working conditions up to 80°C (176°F). HDPE is recommended for all external applications due to its enhanced resistance to freezing conditions. Black, Ultra Violet stabilizing additives prevent the degrading effects of sunlight. HDPE is also recommended for demineralised water and Chromic acid applications.
Polypropylene is liable to chain degradation from exposure to heat and UV radiation such as that present in sunlight. So HDPE is recommended in external application.
